Diving Deeper into the Advocacy Principles

Following the success of The Advocacy “Big Event” for the last 3 years, The HOPE Advocacy Project are excited to welcome The Welsh Adult Advocacy Sector to this event for the fourth year running.

The first session of a series of four sessions- “Diving Deeper into The Advocacy Principles” wiill provide a detailed look at the Advocacy Charter Principles of Person Led, Independence and Empowerment

Suitable for independent advocates across all services, both community based and statutory.

Rhiannon Denning, ASCymru and Natasha Fox, Advocacy West Wales will be discussing with you three of the primary principles of the Advocacy Charter:

• examining and reflecting upon what those principles mean for us as advocates and the people we support and services we advocate into on their behalf,
• supporting you to work within these principles as independent advocates,
• considering the boundaries of your role with specific reference to these 3 principles,
• workshops with scenarios examining areas of good practice and identifying where practice may be straying out of our field,
• sharing tools for addressing issues around boundaries.
• During this event there will be fantastic opportunities for you to connect with other advocates from across Wales to explore, discuss and share practice with regards to these 3 vital Principles of Advocacy.
